The brief
Kit and Ace is a Vancouver based fashion company and at the time of the project employed about 500 people across the globe on 4 different continents with over 60 stores. The Technology needed to operate a business this size and across so many timezones makes a project like this very challenging but fascinating. Our task was to automate processes that have required enormous manpower in the past, to gain control over distributed systems and to provide insight in data with reports and dashboards.
Our solution
To manage computer systems across the globe centrally you need good management software in place to control the systems securely from one location. We designed and implemented this software. With the use of Powershell scripts this system would gather information of all 300 POS systems across the 60 stores and execute commands on demand or on a schedule. This system helped Kit and Ace to roll out a major POS software upgrade with a few clicks. Prior changes like this required technicians and staff to be on site at all locations.
Reporting on data
Often data is already collected but not visible to key figures in the business. We have identified important variables and helped create reports and dashboard to visualize and display this data on big screens and email reports to support the operations team and give key financial insight in real time to the business.
What success looks like
This was a huge project for Sea2Cloud working with a local international business to improve security and automate manual processes. Our work resulted in great insight in real time data and massive time savers to staff and less reliance on external technicians.
